Adopt,by motion, a resolution acknowledging contributions received from various groups and
individuals for the Independence Day fireworks.
Background/Discussion
Council consensus at their June 2, 2014, meeting was for the city to coordinate the Independence Day
fireworks after the Independence Day Committee stepped aside. The Council approved an expenditure of
budgeted city funds for the fireworks but appealed to the public for donations to assist the city in raising
additional funds needed to support this event.
The city received contributions totaling$4,140.00 so far to be used towards the Independence Day
fireworks.
Financial Impact
The City of Elk River has received $4,140.00 in donations.

Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
Resolution 14-
A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community;and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received donations in the amount of$4,140.00 from
various individuals and organizations as itemized on Exhibit A,attached hereto,with the
intent they be used to fund the Independence Day fireworks.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council,by at least four-fifths
vote,to acknowledge the support and commend the individuals and organizations who
donated.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
, and upon vote being taken thereon,the following voted in favor thereof-
and the following against: ,whereupon said
resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
