This is to remind you of our upcoming meeting on Thursday,July 17,2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the
Elk River City Hall in the Uppertown Conference Room. Please see the attached agenda and
minutes.
General Business
6.1 Water Tower Update
The water tower subcommittee will provide an update.
Staff Updates
7.1 Water Tower Grant Update
On May 15, 2014, staff received an update from the State Historic Preservation Office
regarding the grant we applied for to fund a Historic Structure Report (HSR) on the
Jackson Street Water Tower. Approval from the Grants Review Committee included a
condition that the scope of work be revised to prepare a Condition Assessment (CA)
rather than an HSR. They felt the budget was insufficient to prepare an HSR,but that a
CA would satisfy the city's goal of considering the next steps for restoring the water tower.
Refer to the attached email and CA overview.
7.2 AASLH Annual Meeting
The information package for the 2014 meeting of the American Association of State and
Local History meeting in St. Paul is attached. Commissioner Mortenson and I will be
attending the meeting on behalf of the city.
