PRSR 06-13-2001 Item #9.B.2. i1k ---� River MEMORA NDUM TO: Park& Recreation Commission FROM: Michele McPherson,Director of Planning DATE: June 13, 2001 SUBJECT: Consider Park Dedication for Administrative Subdivision Case No. AS 01-04 by Arne and Marilyn Engstrom Request The Commission is asked to review administrative subdivision request AS 01-04 to create three parcels by Arne and Marilyn Engstrom for park dedication. • Attachments • Location Map • Excerpt from Master Park Plan • Certificate of Survey Location The southwest corner of the intersection of 209`h Avenue and County Road No. 32. Analysis The administrative subdivision request by the applicant is to create three parcels;Parcel A for a new home;Parcel B for an existing home; and Parcel C (unbuildable)to be added to land adjacent in Big Lake Township.In the future,Parcel C will become open space as part of a cluster subdivision. A trail over Parcel C will connect County Road 32 to land west in Big Lake Township. A portion of the parcel of land surrounding the existing farmstead has been annexed by the City of Elk River as part of this proposal. Parcel B will include land in both the City of Elk River and in Big Lake Township. A review of the Master Park Plan indicates an area wide park to the east of the subject parcel but no park facilities on or adjacent to the subject property. Staff would recommend that cash dedication be required for park dedication purposes.
