Action Requested
Adopt,by motion,the resolution acknowledging contributions from the Friends of the Elk River Library.
Background/Discussion
The Friends of the Elk River Library, a non-profit group that exists to support the Elk River branch of
the Great River Regional Library, at their last meeting approved $3,100 for new shelving at the library.
The City of Elk River has budgeted to contribute the other half of the cost for the new shelving, and
requested the Friends pay the city, so the city could pay the vendor in a single lump sum.
In effect,the Friends of the Elk River Library are donating$3,100 to the City of Elk River.
Contributions shall be approved for acceptance and resolutions adopted by at least a four-fifths vote.

The Friends of the Elk River Library are donating$3,100 to the City of Elk River.

Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
Resolution 14-
A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community;and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $3,100 donation from the Friends of the Elk
River Library with the intent it be used by the library for new shelving.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council,by at least four-fifths
vote,to acknowledge the support and commend the Friends of the Elk River Library for
their donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
, and upon vote being taken thereon,the following voted in favor thereof.
