Dear Rivers Edge Member, Efforts are now focusing on our the new mural that will be painted on the side of the Cinema Building, located at the corner of Main Street and Jackson Ave. downtown Elk River. The building is currently painted a flat gray color, and with the addition of the new mural, it will be a great new attraction for our downtown, "Rivers Edge"park. The land located to the south of the building is one of our Elk River city parks. Thy_Rivers Edge Downtown Business Association, have taken it upon ourselves, to call it the Rivers Edge Park. Now whether this name will stick, is yet to be determined. What is needed to complete the project? The cost estimates for the new mural, are running between $15,000.00 and $18,000.00. Rivers Edge has received a grant from the City, in the • amount of$5,000.00 towards the project costs. However, this is a matching grant, and we need to fund the first $5,000.00 to take advantage of the matching grant. Your help is needed to accomplish this goal. Please take a moment to complete page two of this letter, and mail it to the address stated in the pledge form. This is just one part of our downtown beautification project that we hope to have completed this summer. With your help, it can be a realization. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Cindy Koonce, at 763-241-1300. A master drawing of the mural will be available for viewing at the next Rivers Edge meeting, set for June 13th at 7:30 am at the Avalon Salon, on Main Street, Elk River. On behalf of the Board of Directors, of the Rivers Edge Downtown Business Association, we wish to thank you, in advance, for your help in making this happen. It is greatly appreciated!
