SUBJECT: Open Mike - Greg Stromen, River City Snow
Riders
Mr. Strommen, representing Elk River's snowmobile club, the River City Snow Riders,
has requested to approach the Park and Recreation Commission regarding the
possibility of constructing a bridge in Lion's Park in order to complete the connecting link
for the cross city snowmobile trail (see attached article). He also questioned if
snowmobilers were still welcome within the community, based on the number of
violations that have occurred during the 1999-2000 snowmobile season.
Recommendation
• The Commission is asked to hear Mr. Strommen's proposal and to provide feedback to
the River City Snow Riders regarding these two issues.
