PRSR 08-09-2000 Item #9.B.2. ityof �lk River MEMORANDUM TO: Park and Recreation Commission FROM: Michele McPherso Director of Planning DATE: August 9, 2000 SUBJECT: Concept Review Meadowwoods Cluster Plat Attached please find a copy of Meadowwoods subdivision, a preliminary cluster plat located on property south of Windsor Park. The Commission is asked to review the plat for park purposes prior to preliminary plat application. The proposed plat includes the street connections to Windsor Park, as well as pedestrian connections along County Road No. 1 to the Windsor Park trail • through the meadow adjacent to County Road No. 1. We are currently discussing the possibility of paving a portion of what had been proposed as woodchip trail, in order to provide a more appropriate public connection between the two subdivisions. As the Commission may recall, the City accepted twelve acres of park from the developer of Windsor Park in lieu of cash dedication. Staff does not believe that additional land in this area is necessary and would therefore, recommend that the Commission consider cash dedication at the rate of$33,6000 (27 lots x $1400.00). Recommendation Staff recommends that the Park and Recreation Commission review this preliminary cluster plat and provide further direction regarding park needs which can be directed to the developer. This request will brought back to the Commission for formal action, once a preliminary plat application has been formally submitted by the applicant.
