1. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic
Development Authority was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President Tveite.
2. Consider 06/16/2014 Agenda
Moved by Commissioner Wilson and seconded by Commissioner Westgaard
to approve the June 16, 2014, agenda. Motion carried 6-0.
3. Consider Consent Agenda
Moved by Commissioner Westgaard and seconded by Commissioner Motin
to approve the following consent agenda:
3.1 May 19, 2014, EDA Minutes.
3.2 Check register as outlined in the staff report.
3.3 Balance sheet as outlined in the staff report.
3.4 Revenue/expenditure sheet as outlined in the staff report.
3.5 Annual Independence Day fireworks donation as outlined in the staff
report.
Motion carried 6-0.
4. Open Forum
No one appeared for Open Forum.
5. Public Hearings
There were no public hearings.

6.1 DEED Presentation
Jim Gromberg, Metro Area Business Development Representative for the
Department of Employment and Economic Development—presented a PowerPoint
outlining the Shovel Ready Certification Program and the Positively Minnesota
marketing partnership.
6.2 Branding Plan
Ms. Eddy presented the staff report.
Discussion was held regarding budget and the process of selecting a winner.Also
discussed were details about maintenance,location, criteria for evaluation,panel of
evaluators, etc. Consensus of the EDA was they liked the concept but would like
staff to define the parameters of the contest more clearly and bring back for
consideration next month.
7.1 Economic Development/Housing Intern
Ms. Eddy stated the City Council will be considering hiring an EDA/HRA
marketing intern this evening.
8. Adjournment
There being no further business, Chair Tveite adjourned the meeting of the Elk
River Economic Development Authority at 6:21 p.m.
