1. Status of Charest Mississippi Parcel
Mr. Charest is in the process of restoring the site per the approved plan.
B. Park/Trail Developments
1. Park Dedication Fund Balance
• The month end total for August in the Park Dedication Fund was $707552.75. For
the year, we have increased the overall fund amount by $28,142.57. We spent the
following on park improvements in August:
Country Crossing 3`d: $31,060.91
Trott Brook Farms: $47,132.82
Devine Barn: $6,902.36
Orono Park: $1,694.68
We will be installing the basketball court in Country Crossing 3`d this fall instead of in
2003 as originally anticipated.

August 2000 •

Summer
Total registrations for summer are 1,767 + 2,168 attended the Entertainment in the Park and did the craft
project following the entertainment for a total summer participation of 3,935. This is up from last
summer's final number of 3,846.
Staff
Our intern is done August 16. Our workload is slowing down now that summer is wrapping up. We
will not be using as much part time help to take care of everything.
Fall
Fall planning is done and the brochure has been sent to the printer. It will be delivered with the
Wednesday paper on August 30`h. This brochure we are trying a flip brochure so our information will be
on one side of the brochure and you'll need to flip it to view Community Education and ECFE's
information. We are hoping that this will be well received and will make it easier for people to tell the
difference between our organizations. You will find a copy of our pages in your packet.
Website
The website will be updated for the fall in the next two weeks. This is a big project and will take a •
couple of days of work.

Community Recreation
Community Recreation offers recreational programming, support and input to the park and recreation
commissions, support services to the youth associations, as well as other related services. We are a municipally
funded organization, serving the cities of Elk River, Otsego, Rogers and the township of Hassan. These
municipalities,along with ISD 728,have entered into a Joint Powers Agreement aimed at delivering recreational 4 ,
opportunities to their residents.
