SUBJECT: Gagne Park Security
Commissioner Dave Anderson requested that the Commission discuss the
security of Gagne Park. Phil Hals, Streets and Parks Superintendent, has
acquired a number of large boulders to place at the entrance along the river that
is currently being utilized by a number of ATV users. We believe that this should
resolve a number of the issues for the west side of the park. At this time, staff is
not recommending that the east side of the park be fenced, as the cost of
installing and maintaining a fence would run, in our estimate from $6,000 to
• $10,000 (see attached aerial). We also believe that due to the undeveloped and
the remote nature of the park that substantial infringement would not occur that
would not be reported by the adjacent residential property owners.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Commission concurs with staffs actions regarding the
security of Gagne Park.
