Dear Mr. Shardlow:
I am writing to inquire about the results of the study of park dedication
requirements that was conducted by your firm for the City of St. Cloud. In
January, 1999, the City of Elk River responded to a request for park
dedication information for the City of St. Cloud study. At that time, we were
• told that the results of the study would be shared with participating cities.
Since that time, the City of Elk River has increased the residential park
dedication fees to $1,100 per dwelling unit and added a trail fee of$200.00
per dwelling unit. The Commercial fees increased to $3,000 per acre and the
city added a $2,000 per acre park dedication fee for industrial development.
Both the Elk River Park and Recreation Commission and City Council hope
to review the park dedication fee increases at the end of 1999 in conjunction
with the results of the St. Cloud study. Please let me know the status of the
