Background/Discussion
The registration deadline for the "Powered by Nature" Public Art Installation initiative was September 8,
2014. By that date, the EDA received twenty two registrations. The geographical range of registrants
includes local, metro, and outstate. Mediums vary from fiberglass, steel, metal, to stone and bronze.
The next step in the proposal process is for registrants to submit a rendering, mock up,proposal or a
sample of their project by November 6, 2014. Once all the proposals have been received a meeting will be
scheduled with the judging panel and the registrants,who will formally present their proposals to the
panel.
In October, the panel will be selected and will consist of a member from the City Council, EDA,Parks
and Recreation Commission,Arts Affiance and a representative from the community.
