SUBJECT: Girls Hockey Team Proclamation
At the Council meeting of March 8, 2004, it was the consensus of the Council to present a
Proclamation to the Girls Hockey Team at tonight's meeting. I am hoping to have hockey
coach Barry Hohlen and possibly some of the hockey team members in attendance.

As A Week of Congratulations
To the Elk River Girls Hockey Team
the City Council recognizes that all the youth of Elk River are significant
members of our community; and
the Elk River Girls Hockey Team won the state championship on
Saturday, February 28, tipping North St. Paul with a sensational 3-2 overtime
win in the Class AA final; and
this successful and determined team became only the third team in Elk River High
School history to win a state championship (previous wins were by the Elk River
Boys Hockey Team and Elk River Girls Nordic Ski Team); and
the City Council wishes to express their congratulations and give recognition to
this fine team whose members will indeed be tomorrow's leaders.
THEREFORE, I, Stephanie Klinzing, Mayor of the City of Elk River, do hereby proclaim the week
of Wednesday, March 16 through Tuesday, March 22 as a Week of Congratulations
to the Elk River Girls Hockey Team.
