Authorize,by motion,the recording of the Mortgage Satisfaction.
Background/Discussion
In October of 2005, as part of a land swap between the city and Thomas and Sara Hartman,the city
received a mortgage from the Hartmans as security that "all taxes and assessments,both levied and
pending...",be paid by the Hartmans.
This mortgage was recorded against the property,and was discovered as part of the EDA's acquisition of
the parcels last month. The taxes have been paid,though the mortgage satisfaction has not been
approved and recorded.
Action as recommended removes the mortgage from the property, easing the sale of the property in the
future.
