Receive update related to the Housing Rehabilitation Program.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On May 5, 2014, the HRA established a Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program, funding it with$100,000
annually for three years. The Central Minnesota Housing Partnership (CMHP), administrator of the
program,will provide a monthly update, attached.
CMHP has approved four applications, and two applications are on the waiting list,pending funding
requirements of the 1" four. All projects require the completion of a lead-based paint assessment; this
assessment may increase the scope (and cost) of the project. Once the scope is determined, those on the
waiting list may be completed.
Staff will monitor the activity, and may in the future suggest an increase of funding in 2015 and 2016 if
the program develops a lengthy waitlist.
