Brimeyer Work Plan Proposal
On March 5, 2004, Councilmember Kuester, myself, and department heads Michele McPherson,
Lori Johnson, and Joan Schmidt met with Jim Brimeyer to follow up on City Council direction that
was received at the February 17, 2004 meeting. The direction we received was to meet with Mr.
Brimeyer to discuss a proposal for having him facilitate a City Council and city staff city-wide goals,
visioning, and strategic planning process. It was emphasized to Mr. Brimeyer that we not only
wanted goals established but we also ~vanted priorities and action steps (to accomplish the goals)
identified as part of the plan.
An update on our meeting with Mr. Brimeyer was provided by Councilmember Kuester at the
March 8, 2004 City Council meeting. Attached is a proposal from Mr. Brimeyer to facilitate our city-
wide strategic planning process.
Recoramendation
It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached proposal from Mr. Brimeyer to
facilitate the City of Elk River strategic planning process. Funding would come from the Council
contingency fund.
