ORD 14-10V IU Ordinance 14 - is l e%-hs to be removed Underlines to be added An Ordinance Amending Section, 34 -32, Chief of Police, of the City of Elk River, Minnesota, City Code The City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That § 34 -32, Chief of Police of the City of Elk River Code of Ordinances shall be amended to read as follows: The chief of police shall have supervision and control of the police department and its members. The chief of police shall be responsible for law enforcement and for property of the city used by the department. The chief of police shall be responsible for the proper training and discipline of the members of the department. Further, the chief of police shall be responsible for the keeping of adequate records and shall report on the needs of the department and its work. Every member of the department subordinate to the chief of police shall obey the instructions of the chief of police and any superior officer. The assistant hief deli ated 12ohce captain shall have all the powers and duties of the chief of police during his absence or disability. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption and be published as provided by law. Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 6th day of October, 2014.
