Action Requested
• Adopt,by motion,a resolution acknowledging tree donations from Midwest Landscapes.
• Recognize and thank Adam Zopfi, President of Midwest Landscapes for the donation.
Background/Discussion
Midwest Landscapes of Otsego volunteered to donate up to 20 trees at a value of$11,000. This is the
second donation this year by Midwest to the city. They donated 20 trees in June that were approved by
City Council for a value of$9,500.
Staff determined, based on the size and species, that Orono Park and the grounds behind City Hall would
be a good location for the new trees. The trees are large in diameter, 4 to 5.5 inches in size in a variety of
Maple, Elm,Locust, and Oak.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 465.03,resolutions acknowledging contributions must be adopted by a
four-fifths vote.
Financial Impact
Midwest Landscapes donated up to 20 trees with a value of$11,000 to the City of Elk River. The trees
were spaded by Tri-co Tree Movers at a cost of$160 per tree for a total cost of$3,200. This will be paid
from the Park Improvement Fund.
