SUBJECT:
Hiring a Building Maintenance Assistant
We received 25 job applications for the building maintenance assistant, with Staff
interviewing 5 candidates. The choice was very difficult, due to the high quality of those
interviewed. Of those interviewed, the committee unanimously recommends hiring Edwin
Pelarski.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends hiring Edwin "Butch" Pelarski at pay grade 8, level C or $16.45 per hour,
with a step increase to pay grade 8, level D after he successfully completes his 6 month
probation. He would also be eligible for a cost of living increase January 1,2005 and a step
incrcasc in July of 2005, if decmcd appropriate at that timc.
