Appoint,by motion, Environmental Coordinator Kristin Mroz as assistant weed inspector with a term
expiration of December 31, 2018.
Background/Discussion
Per state law, the mayor is designated as the city's official weed inspector and the city may appoint
assistant weed inspectors. Staff recommends the appointment of an assistant weed inspector who would
have the same authority and responsibility as the Mayor in the capacity of weed inspector.
Local weed inspectors examine areas of the city to determine if landowners have complied with the rules
regarding the eradication of noxious weeds. They also issue permits for the transportation of materials
infested with noxious,weed-propagating parts.
