Approve,by motion,the quote from Greenscape Companies, Inc.,to replace the pavers in the crosswalk
and the upper half of the alley at River's Edge Commons Park.
Background/Discussion
At the November 3, 20145 City Council meeting, staff presented four options to replace the deteriorated
pavers at Main Street and Jackson Avenue and in the alley at River's Edge Commons Park. During the
Work Session, a fifth option was added to replace the pavers on the upper alley and utilize the lower alley
to expand the park.
Permeable pavers were originally considered;however, the combination of practices in the fifth option
addresses stormwater concerns and eliminates the high cost of the aggregate base for the permeable
pavers.
The project concept was also presented to the Downtown Business Group and to the Park and
Recreation Commission in November. Both groups were supportive of the proposed improvements.
As directed by Council, staff obtained the following quotes for the fifth option.
• Greenscape Companies,Inc. $19,968
• Great Northern Landscaping, Inc. $25,560
Pending Council approval,work would begin as soon as weather permits and be completed by May 20,
2015.
Financial Impact
The project will be funded out the 2015 Street Maintenance budget as part of our normal operating
budget for maintenance projects.

and applicable taxes to remove and reinstall 2,339 square feet of pavers supplied by the manufacturer
