SUBJECT: Regular Meeting of the Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission
This is to remind you of our upcoming meeting on Thursday,January 15,2015, at 6:00 p.m. at the
Elk River City Hall in the Uppertown Conference Room. The agenda and packet will be mailed
shortly.
General Business
5.1 Water Tower Subcommittee Update
The water tower subcommittee will provide an update.
5.2 Walking Tour Update
On December 10,2014,students from St. Cloud State University presented four options
for a Historic Walking Tour Brochure during a special meeting of the HPC.The
Commission may review the brochures and provide feedback to the students for the
creation of a final/master brochure.
5.3 Review Jackson Street Water Conditions Assessment RFP
The City received three responses to the Conditions Assessment RFP that closed on
January 8,2015.The budget for the project was $5,000,and all of the proposals came in
over budget. The 11PC should decide on the next step for the project. Options available
include re-advertising with an adjusted project scope, selecting one of the three bids with a
reduced project scope to meet our budget,postpone the project and apply for a second
grant from the Minnesota Historical Society,or request additional funding from the City
Council.

Staff Updates
6.1 Certified Local Government Grants
The Minnesota Historical Society notified the city about the 2015 Certified Local
Government(CLG) Grant program. All CLG cities are eligible to apply for grants through
the program.Please think about potential projects that may require funding to complete.
Information on the grant program is attached.
