SUBJECT: Elk River Municipal Utilities
Administrative Subdivision (AS 97-9)
Attached for your review is a request for administrative subdivision by Elk
River Municipal Utilities.
The Elk River Municipal Utilities administrative subdivision request
involves creating a 1.2+ acre lot for a well, filtering plant, backwash seepage
pond, and future water tower site. The property is located just north of
Meadowvale Elementary School and immediately west of the city trail. The
property does have access to the former Burlington Northern Railroad
corridor which is now abandoned and owned by the city. Limited access to
this property will need to be provided for general maintenance and inspection
to the facilities proposed to be constructed. When the city trail is constructed
its design should be upgraded to support the utility vehicles that will need
access to the water tower and existing lift station.
Recommendation
The Park and Recreation Commission is asked to consider park dedication for
the proposed subdivision. Staff would recommend a cash payment ($650.00)
for one single family lot unit be paid to satisfy the dedication requirements.
