Action Requested
Adopt, by motion, a resolution acknowledging $1,000 donation from Joanne McChesney.
Recognize and thank Joanne McChesney for the donation.
Background/Discussion
Jerry McChesney passed away on October 28, 2014. Jerry was a frequent participant at the Elk River
Activity Center. His wife, Joanne, requested to donate part of his memorial fund to the Activity Center.
A program that Jerry enjoyed participating in at the Activity Center was card playing. The donation has
been put towards additional chairs for the card playing area.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute §465.03, resolutions acknowledging contributions must be adopted by a
four-fifths vote.
Financial Impact
Joanne McChesney donated $1,000 towards the purchase of chairs for the card playing area at the Elk
River Activity Center. These funds were part of her late husband’s memorial fund.

A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS,
the City of Elk River received a $1,000 donation from Joanne McChesney in
memory of her husband, Jerry, with the intent it be used by Parks and Recreation for Senior
Center activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
by the City Council, by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Joanne McChesney on behalf of her late
husband, Jerry, for her donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
______________, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
