Subject: Boulevard Display sign
During the last couple of years I have been exploring the possibility of the
Arena having a display sign along School Street to publicize the events held
at the Arena. The Elk River / Rogers V.F.W. has generously donated
$5,000.00 towards the sign. The sign will cost $3,961.00 including tax and
fi.eight. Installation of the sign may exceed the $5,000.00 donated by the
V.F.W., however I have not had the chance to finalize all of the other
expenses.
I am working with school Officials to determine the best location of the sign
and to develop an agreement for the placing the sign on the School Districts
property. I would like to place the sign as near as possible to the drive where
our customers enter and exit the Arena. Another option is to place it west of
the parking lot guard shack. Under ground cables, as well as making sure that
it does not create a blind spot for traffic entering on to School Street will need
to be considered before a final placement of the sign is determined.
I am hoping to have everything in place for your approval by the next council
