PRSR 1-15-2015 Hecker, Michael From: Reker, Douglas J (DHS) <douglas j.reker @state.mn.us> Sent: Wednesday,January 14,2015 11:49 AM To: Hecker, Michael Subject: RE: Master Plan Michael, thank you for staying in touch. I am still the President and it was our understanding the trail connection was not going to be a priority. The RRL Board is content with that. Bonnie has never brought up this again after the meetings you guys had and the article in the paper was discussed and of course it was posted on your site. Bonnie is passionate but the pulse of our neighborhood is that the majority out here do not want trails connected. This winter we opened up the skating and hockey rink to our development for use. This alone caused a Board member to become upset citing liability issues. One of her concerns is about needing to get into a car and travel to town for parks, etc. Not to sound snotty but anyone who lives out here should have realized that was the case before moving out here. One thing that I do agree with however is the number of cars and trucks who park by the trails both morning and evening. This frankly is a dangerous situation waiting to happen. It is too bad that there couldn't be some off road parking leveled so cars and trucks could park away from the shoulder and not encroach on the road way. Of course the hills compound the problem. I cannot be present tonight but appreciate the heads up. Please feel free to keep me informed and again thank you.
