SUBJECT: Consider Implementing Controls for
Park Reservations
The Park and Recreation Commission should consider implementing controls for park
reservations for park usage for school district events. We have had many concerns
expressed by the public, who arrive at Woodland Trails Park to recreate, only to find that
there are bus loads of skiers or runners to compete with.
Recommendation
• Staff recommends that school district events be required to reserve parks for events such
as cross country running meets or cross country ski practices and meets. The reservations
should follow the same format as shelter reservations so that other park users can be put
on notice as to when events are scheduled. The country club would also appreciate some
information regarding park plans for adjoining properties.
