Cancellation of December 28, 1998, City
Council Meeting and Calling of Special
Meeting for January 11, 1998
Typically the City Council tries to take a break from its regular meeting
schedule over the holiday season. If the budget and tax levy are approved at
this December 21 meeting, it seems likely that the City Council can then
cancel the fourth Monday of the month regular meeting. That meeting is
scheduled for December 28, 1998.
If this meeting is canceled, then the next regular City Council meeting will
be scheduled for January 11, 1999, following the EDA meeting. However,
we should have a special meeting at 5:30 p.m., January 11, at which time the
new Mayor and City Councilmember will be sworn into office. In this
manner, the two new City Councilmembers can participate in the EDA
meeting. The current City Council should plan to attend the special meeting
at 5:30 p.m. on January 11.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council approve a motion which cancels the
December 28, 1998, regular City Council meeting.
