DATE: AUGUST 5, 1993 Ivv
SUBJECT: JACKSON SQUARE PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS
Attached to this memo are several illustrations regarding the
proposed improvements to the Jackson Square parking lot. These
illustrations have been prepared by Phil Hals and his staff and
are an attempt to expand the off-street parking in this area as
well as improve overall . maneuvering
Funds for this project are available in the HRA' s 1993 Budget.
The adopted Budget designated $30,500 for various parking lot
improvements in 1993. Roughly half of this amount was
designated for the Jackson Square project.
Earlier this year, the City Council suggested that a post-Labor
Day start for these improvements would be realistic. It is,
however, beneficial for the Elk River Downtown Development
Corporation to have input into this improvement project.
ACTION REQUESTED
The HRA Commissioners are asked to acknowledge receipt of the
improvement illustrations to Jackson Square parking lot. In
addition, Commissioners are asked to refer these illustrations
to the Development Corporation for input. Thereafter,
Commissioners will likely revisit this issue and finalize the
design and allow this project to move forward.
