PRSR 01-11-1995 ,.fir �� \ - ITEM 7 y of it f 1k" River MEMORANDUM TO: PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION FROM: STEPHEN ROHLF, BUILDING AND ZONING ADMINSTRATOR DATE: JANUARY 6, 1995 5- SUBJECT: PROPOSED SKATING RINK AT HILLSIDE CROSSING COMMERCIAL PUD Mr. Rick Foster is proposing to allow the holding pond in the Hillside Crossings to be used as a skating rink for a cost of $1 per year. The pond is labeled outlot A on the attached site plan. This pond would give the City a rink east of Highway 169 where we currently • do not have one. Further, this proposed rink is greatly recessed and therefore, protected from the wind. Additional lighting will most likely not be required due to nearby street lighting. Mr. Foster's offer in contingent upon his company not receiving any liability from this pond being used as a skating rink. The pond is only about 3 feet deep, however, appropriate measures to ensure public safety should be considered, i.e., possibly a fence with a locked gate when the ice is too thin.
