SUBJECT: Landfill Request for Fencing
Installation on Railroad Trail
The landfill is proposing to put an 8' high chainlink fence around their entire
site. The issue for the Park and Recreation Commission is whether or not to
allow them to include 6 monitoring wells inside the fence that are located
within the right-of-way of the railroad hiking trail. There is a map attached
to this memo showing the location of the wells.
It is logical that these wells are included within the landfill's fenced area,
since they do get vandalized occasionally. The only issue is whether or not
the fence allows for safe trail movements along the railroad hiking trail.
411 Staff will review the site prior to Wednesday night's meeting.
