SUBJECT: CONSIDER AMERICAN LEGION FLAG
REQUEST AT LIONS PARK
A request from the American Legion to place flags at the
entrance into Lions Park has been made to Street/Park
Superintendent, Phil Hals. This issue was included under staff
updates for the November and December Commission meetings,
however, these Commission meetings ran late and this issue
never received any true discussion. Representatives of the
American Legion have inquired as to the status of their request
and, accordingly, it is appropriate for the Commission to
review the issue and make a recommendation to the City
Council.
Phil will be able to update the Commission on the details of
• the request, but, in general, it relates to the placement of
flags on permanent poles along the entrance into Lions Park off
of Jackson Avenue. The American Legion would like to work on
this project this spring before Memorial Day.
