Call Meeting To Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River City Council was called
to order at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Ia-3inzing.

Councilmember Dietz asked that discussion concerning the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
be added under Other Business.

4. Annual Reports
The 2003 Annual Reports were presented. Each department shared some of their 2003
accomplishments and 2004 goals, activities, and projects. The Council had a question and
answer session regarding any issues of concern and interest.
5. Other Business
Councilmember Dietz stated that he was embarrassed about the poor food and service that
was received at the Volunteer Recognition Dinner held April 22, 2004. He questioned if it
would be appropriate to send a letter of apology to those volunteers who attended the
dinner.
Councilmember Tveite agreed that the service was poor. He stated that the volunteers do a
lot for the city and this was the City Council's way of showing their appreciation.
It was the consensus of the City Council to have Councilmember Dietz draft a letter on
behalf of the Mayor and City Council apologizing for the poor food and service received at
the Volunteer Recognition Dinner. The letter will be sent to all volunteers who attended the
event.
