Last week, the Mayor was notified that the State of Minnesota
is awarding the City $50,000 in grant monies for improvements
to Woodland Trails Park. Enclosed, you will find a breakdown
of the total grant application for Woodland Trails Park. Come
prepared to discuss how we can best use the grant money and how

The Honorable Henry Duitsman
Mayor, City of Elk River
720 Dodge Avenue NW
Elk River, MN 55330
Dear Mayor Duitsman:
I am pleased to inform you that your application for a grant from the Outdoor
Recreation Grant Program has been approved in the amount of $50,000. As
always, funding was very competitive this year. The Minnesota Department of
Trade and Economic Development (DTED) received a total of 45 applications and
yours was one of eight selected for an award. Everyone involved in the
• preparation of your application can be proud of a job well done.
DTED's Community Development staff will soon be providing information on the
implementation of your grant award and will assist you in achieving your
community development goals. While your grant award is contingent on the
completion of a formal grant agreement, we do not anticipate any problems or
delays. For additional information, please contact Wayne Sames, Director of
the Outdoor Recreation Unit at (612)296-1567.
Finally, let me extend my congratulations to you and your staff for developing
an approach that will effectively address your community development needs.
Warm Regards,
A H. CARLSON
Governor
