Consider Firefighter Pay Adjustment
In the past, firefighter pay has not been included in the pay resolution and it
was not addressed when the 2000 pay resolution was presented to the Council
in December. However, the Firefighter Compensation package approved by
the Council in 1997 includes a provision that firefighter pay adjustments be
considered each year with the pay resolution. No increase in probationary
firefighter pay is being recommended at this time. Firefighter pay is proposed
to increase $.25 to $9.50 per hour; this is slightly less than a three percent
increase.
Action Requested
The City Council is asked to consider increasing firefighter pay to $9.50 per
hour effective January 1, 2000.
