5. Request to Install Mallard Houses - Dustin Harell has requested the
Park and Recreation Commission's approval to build and install
mallard duck nesting houses in Woodland Trails Park as part of a Boy
Scout Eagle project. Mr. Harell will be on hand to make a presentation
and answer any questions that Commission members may have.
6. Request to Construct Batting Cage Facility - Mr. and Mrs. Pat
Donavan are requesting permission to build and operate a batting cage
type concession on City property near one of the athletic complexes.
The Donavan's will be on hand to make a presentation and answer
questions about their proposal.
7. Consider Trail Width Standard - Presentation by Chair Dave
Anderson.
8. Review Country Crossings Trail Corridor - The Planning Commission
reviewed and concurred with the Park and Recreation Commission
recommendation for the trail system for the Country Crossing
development. Staff has since discussed one more possible option and
would like to discuss it with the Park and Recreation Commission.
9. Consider Neighborhood Ice Rinks - City Councilmember Larry Farber
would like the Park and Recreation Commission to discuss the
development of neighborhood ice rinks for the fall of 1994. Some items
that should be considered are:
1. Locations for neighborhood ice rinks;
2. Facilities needed for each installation (toilets, warming house,
water availability);
3. Costs for developing each rink;
4. Cost for maintaining each rink; and
5. How to fund these costs.

10. Consider Capital Park Improvements for 1994 - Please review attached
• list of Capital Improvement items.
11. Staff Updates
11.1. The City Council would like to schedule a joint meeting with the
Park and Recreation Commission. One possible date is April 25,
1994. Please check your calendar so we can make appropriate
arrangements.
11.2. I have been resubmitting the grant application for federal
ISTEA funds. The deadline for submitting the application at
the local level is March 7, 1994. I will have plans at the meeting
as an update for the Park and Recreation Commissioners.
