Interview and Appoint Applicant to the Park
and Recreation Commission
Request
Staff requests that the City Council interview and appoint one applicant to the Park and
Recreation Commission.

Analysis
The term of Clair Olson expires February 29, 2000. Mr. Olson has chosen not to be
reappointed to the Commission.
Tim Sladek has applied for appointment to the Commission. He also applied in 1998
but was not appointed at that time. Mr. Sladek has a two-year degree in Natural
Resources and is currently employed by the City of Anoka's Park Maintenance
Department.
Mr. Sladek has been invited to the February 22, 2000 meeting to be interviewed for the
vacancy on the Commission. At my invitation, he also attended the February 9, 2000
Park and Recreation Commission as an observer.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council interview Mr. Sladek, and if appropriate, appoint
him to the Park and Recreation Commission.
