8.0. PRSR 06-06-1990 TRAIL GRANT PROPOSAL
The Elk River Nordic Ski Club would like to help the City of
Elk River improve the present Elk River Ski Trail System.
One of the Elk River Nordic Ski Club's goals is to obtain
money through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
to improve the Elk River Ski Trail System. The Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources has a program called the
Minnesota Trail Assistance Program which offers money for
developing, grooming and maintaining ski trails. However, in
order for us to become a part of the program, we need the
City of Elk River to Sponsor our Club. (Note : The Elk River
Nordic Ski Club is Incorporated and carries Liability
Insurance! )
BENEFITS: If we are accepted Into the Minnesota Trail
Assistance Program we could receive the following funding:
A. 90% of Winter Grooming Cost
B. 65% of Material and Development Cost
C. 65% of Trail Maintenance Cost
*** Funding not received through the Minnesota Trail
Assistance Program could be shared between the City of Elk

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MINNESOTA TRAIL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
1 . The City of Elk River would designate itself a
"Sponsor" of the Elk River Nordic Ski Club.
