Attached is an E-mail message to the Mayor and Council. I am forwarding
this message to you according to our e-mail policy. I will send a reply to Mr.
Leinonen indicating that his message has been forwarded to the Mayor and
City Council.
funding the retired workers in government? If it is, as I suspect, at the
level of their former salaries, how do we justify it?
3. I want to know if there is any consideration being given to pressing
the state legislature to recall many of the laws that have been enacted
,ver the years that have, in my view, been the cause of much of the
decline in the teachers ability to control their classes. This might be a
legitimate reason for the teachers union to strike!
4. The city says it has a hard time in controlling the growth that leads
to the need for more and more schools to be built. Yet, I see, again
based upon my limited knowledge, but also based upon observation, many
developments where the city has put in sewer and water thus leading to
smaller lots sizes and thus to more houses ... How does this policy stack
up with the stated desire to limit growth?
5. How much effort has the School district and the City given
collectively to finding ways to restructure the property tax ... its
seems apparent that Mr. Heinzman in a recent editorial desired that "the
parents" should get out and pass the next referendum". Evidently his idea
of maintaining the status quo is to pit us against one and other. I
believe that shows poor leadership, but perhaps typical thinking of those
of his ilk. This problem should be solved by the various entities of
government working together to come up with a united strategy that could
be presented to the people (perhaps thru the local paper if Mr Headman
could tolerate less biased data being presented).
6. I encourage us to not be in favor of the idea afloat that has the
state increasing
from our surplus taxation the reduction of property taxes. Ail this
ultimately does is launder money., i.e. over pay the state so it can pay
down property taxes and then we will be less aware of the true costs..

could go on with this list but, I sense you would tire.
I have voted for referendums in the past and could again if I had a
sense that I wasn't supporting a corrupted system that is broken in so
many ways.
I believe it is my duty to encourage you all to strive to find ways to
make the system better. I think you need to prove by your actions that
you are striving to do that, not so much because I think so, but because
its you sworn duty to do so.
