RESOLUTION 79-26
RESOLUTION R_ UESTING STATE OF MINNESOTA
FUNDS FOR THE REPAIR OF THE LAKE ORONO DAM
WHEREAS, The Lake Orono Dam was found to be deficient by the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers and the Minnesota Department of Natural
Resources such that a threat to the health, safety and welfare
of Elk River residents was present; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Elk River has deemed it in the
best interest of the City to repair the structure such that the
threat to the health, safety and welfare of Elk River citizens
is removed; and,
WHEREAS, Special legislation authorizing the expenditure of up to $344,000
for the repair of the Lake Orono Dam was passed by the Minnesota
State Legislature in the 1979 session.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River
that, based upon the most current cost information available at
the time, the City of Elk River requests the following funds
• from the State of Minnesota as indicated by purpose and date
needed:
