Background/Discussion Local residents continue to be excited about the acquisition of the Houlton Farm property. The Ethen family wanted to donate money for the purpose of making improvement to the Houlton Farm Property Conservation Area. They have requested that the larger potion be used for improvements and restoration to the property and $100 could be used for the “Name the Property” contest. The contest sponsored by the Houlton Planning Committee will be announced soon to involve the community in the naming of the new conservation area. Financial Impact None required with the donation Attachments  Resolution Acknowledging $1,000 Donation Councilmember _______________ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Resolution 15-____ A Resolution of the City of Elk River Acknowledging Contributions WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and individuals for their contributions to the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $1,000 donation from Dennis and Colleen Ethen with the intent $900 be used by the Parks and Recreation Department for restoring the Houlton Farm Property Conservation Area and $100 be used for a Name the Houlton Property Naming Contest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, by at least four-fifths vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Mike Ethen for his donation. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember ______________, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following against: , whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
