AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT FOR THE SALE OF TURBINES
AND OTHER RELATED HYDRO EQUIPMENT TO MR. RICHARD
KASTER
WHEREAS, on May 20, 1980, the City Council authorized the City
Administrator to negotiate a contract for the sale of
turbines and other related hydro equipment from the
Orono Dam (the "Units") to David Mercer; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mercer has advised the City Administrator that he
no longer intends to purchase the Units and has other-
wise revoked his offer to purchase; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Kaster, a resident of the State of Idaho,
has made a bona fide offer to the City to purchase the
Units for $20, 000. 00 and will remove the Units at his
own expense and his activities will not interfere with
the City ' s general contractor on the Orono Dam Rehabili-
tation project ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that any further delay in the
reconstruction of the Orono Dam would create an emergency,
411 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Elk River that the Mayor and City Administrator are author-
ized to enter into an agreement for the sale of the Units
to Mr . Richard Kaster for $20, 000.00 and that said Units
be removed immediately.
Adopted this 16th day of June, 1980, by the Elk River City Council .
