Background/Discussion
The final draft of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan is expected to be an agenda action item at the
May 13 Parks Commission meeting. When approved by the Commission,the next phase of adopting the
plan will be presenting it at the Council Work Session tentatively scheduled for May 18. Staff's goal is to
have it formally approved by the City Council on June 1,2015.
Part of the Master Plan includes provisions for a comprehensive study to evaluate the indoor facilities,
Arena,Lions Park, Senior Center and the Trout Brook Barn.The study will include the possibility of
combining the Arena with a Senior Center and other amenities to create a multi-purpose facility that
could be utilized for programing and other various organizations.
