6.0. PRSR 07-19-1988 "NAME YOUR NEW PARKS" CONTEST
• Sponsored by Elk River Recreation Board
Elk River has two undeveloped parcels of land designated for
future park use. The Elk River City Council has directed the
Recreation Board to name these parks , and this contest is our
way of getting public input into this project.
PARK LOCATIONS
PARK #1
Approximately 160 acres of undeveloped woodland and marsh.
Recently acquired by the City of Elk River. This land is located
north of the Elk River Country Club, east of County Road #1, and
west of the abandoned Burlington Northern Railroad.
Park #2
• 80 acres of undeveloped woodland that previously served as the
City dump. This land is located approximately one mile east of
the Municipal Liquor Store and lies south of County Road 12 .

CONTEST RULES
1 . Contest is not limited to Elk River residents; anyone may •
enter.
2. There is no limit to the number of names you may submit .
3 . Winning entry will be determined by the Elk River Recreation
Board.
4. If more than one winning entry is submitted, the winner will
be drawn at random.
5 . Deadline for entries is July 15 , 1988 .
6 . Park names and winners will be announced in August, 1988.
7 . Contest winners will receive a $50 .00 GIFT CERTIFICATE which
can be redeemed at any Elk River business who is a Chamber of
Commerce member.
8. Entries must be made on, or attached to, the official entry
blank , or on a copy of the official entry blank .
9. Additional entry blanks may be picked up at the Elk River
City Hall .
10. Entries may be dropped off at the City booth at the Community
Festival or either hand delivered or mailed to: •
