Premises Permit Renewal for Eagles Club
The Eagles have made application to renew their Premises Permit to operate
pull tabs at the Eagles Club. The permit is effective for two years (6/1/2000 -
6/1/2002). The Eagles have met the city's requirement of spending 75% of the
lawful expenditures in the city's trade area. (see attached "Expenditure of
Funds.")
There are currently two organizations selling pull-tabs at the Eagles Club,
the Eagles and VFW. Although this is prohibited by ordinance, the Eagles are
permanently grandfathered to allow two organizations at their present
location provided that both are not selling pull-tabs simultaneously and
provided that the issue is not challenged. To this date, the city has received
no complaints regarding this issue.
ACTION REQUESTED
Council motion adopting the attached resolution granting a Premises Permit
to the Eagles to allow the sale of pull tabs at the Eagles Club located at 824
Railroad Drive.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PREMISES PERMIT RENEWAL FOR
THE EAGLES CLUB
WHEREAS,
The Eagles Club has made application to the State Gambling
Control Board for a Premises Permit Renewal; and,
WHEREAS,
the Premises Permit will allow charitable gambling on the
premises of The Eagles Club located at 824 Railroad Drive in
the City of Elk River; and,
WHEREAS,
The Eagles Club has met the city's requirement of spending
75 percent of its lawful expenditures within the city's trade
area during the past two years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River, Minnesota that a Premises Permit for The Eagles Club be granted
to allow charitable gambling operations at The Eagles Club, located at 824
Railroad Drive, Elk River, Minnesota.
Passed and adopted this 10th day of April 2000.
