Authorize Bids for Playground Equipment
Request
Staff requests that the City Council grant approval to receive bids for the acquisition and
installation of playground equipment.

Analysis
At the joint Park and Recreation/City Council meeting, the proposed 2000 budget was
discussed. Playground structures were identified for the above noted parks. Staff has been
working with EF Anderson on playground design, specifications, and estimates. The Park and
Recreation Commission reviewed and endorsed the designs at its April 12, 2000 meeting.
Staff proposes to bid the projects in the following manner:
Meadow Park: Contractor furnish, City install.
Country Crossing Third: Contractor furnish, City install with supervisory assistance.
Trott Brook Park: Contractor furnish and install.
The bids would be opened on May 1, 2000 and awarded on May 8, 2000.
Sources of Funds
Park Dedication and Landfill Abatement (depending on the level of recycled material in the
equipment, it may qualify for use of landfill abatement funds).
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize bids for playground equipment.
