• Delivered four new residential water meters
• Sealed the water meter and took curb stop ties from four water services.
• Went on 14 Service calls
• Delivered 4 rain barrels
• Completed 25 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples; all confirmed negative for
Coliform Bacteria.
• Completed 20 routine fluoride samples. All samples met MDH standards.
• The Gary Street water tower interior painting project went out for quotes. I'll provide an
update at the meeting.
• We washed and filled the Johnson Street water tower on April 14. The tower passed all
bacteria tests and was put back into service on May 20.
• Dave Ninow, our new Water Operator, started on May 1. He's a great addition to the
crew and we're very happy to have him.
• We had some communication problems with Gary Street tower talking to Well#4. With
the help of the line department, we were able to locate the fault in the wire and correct the
problem.
• We hosted a Minnesota Rural Water Association (MRWA) one-day water school at Lions
Park. The school was attended by 50 water operators from around the area. We will be
hosting the school again on April 20, 2016.
• Preventative maintenance for our VFDs and our cooling units has been completed by Elk
River Heating. This helps to ensure we don't overheat during our busy summer months.
• We visited with Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services (AE2S) and Short
Elliott Hendrickson(SEH) about optimizing our filtration process. Through this process,
we hope to optimize our chemical usage and validate our filtration process.
