A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE-SAVING
EFFORTS OF JANA SWEENEY AND HER RECEIPT
OF THE HONORABLE MENTION LIFE-SAVING AWARD
WHEREAS , Jana Sweeney is a member of Elk River Girl Scout Troup
1133 ; and,
WHEREAS , Jana Sweeney participated in first aid training as a Girl
Scout activity; and,
WHEREAS , on December 28th , 1980 , Jana Sweeney utilized her first
aid training to save the life of her niece , Dwan Sweeney;
and,
WHEREAS , Jana Sweeney recently received the Honorable Mention Life-
Saving Award from the Girl Scouts of the U. S .A. for her
life saving efforts .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River that Jana Sweeney is hereby commended for her
good thinking and ability to use her first aid training
to save a person' s life ; and,
BE IT FURTHER 'RESOLVED that Jana Sweeney be congratulated for re-
ceiving the Honorable Mention Life-Saving Award from Girl
Scouts of the U. S .A. ; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Jana Sweeney ' s actions serve as an example
for the youth of Elk River to follow.
