82-009 RES ft RESOLUTION 82-9 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE SCHOOL STREET PROJECT WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary and expedient that the City of Elk River construct certain improvements to-wit: School Street improvements in the City as described in and in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by Terry Mauer of Consulting Engineers Diversified Inc. , consulting engineer; and, WHEREAS, the Council has been advised by the consulting engineer that said Project improvements are feasible and should best be made as proposed, and the consulting engineer's report to this effect has heretofore been received by the Council, and filed with the City Clerk; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to the City Council's authorization at the May 3, 1982 City Council meeting has prepared plans and specifications for the following improvement: The School Street Project; and, III WHEREAS, the statute provides that no such improvements shall be made until the Council shall have held a public hearing on such improvements following mailed notice and two publications thereof in the official newspaper stating time and place of the hearing, the general nature of the improvement, the estimated costs thereof, and the area proposed to be assessed, in accordance with the law. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River as follows: 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are on file in the City Administrator's office, are hereby approved. 2; The City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official newspaper of the City an advertisement for bid for the making of such improvement pursuant to the approved plans and specifications. 3. Such advertisement for bid shall call for sealed bids to be received by the City Manager by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 1982 in the City Hall in Elk River, in compliance with the Notice to Contractors for the advertisement for bid.
