82-014 RES RESOLUTION 82-14
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SPEED ZONE STUDIES
WHEREAS, M.S. 169.14 requires the Commissioner of Highways to conduct an engineering
and traffic investigation in order to authorize the erection of appropriate
signs designating a reasonable and safe speed; and,
WHEREAS, The Sherburne County Board has requested the Commissioner of Highways to
conduct a speed study on a portion of County Road #44, beginning at the
former City limits of the City of Elk River prior to consolidation with
Elk River Township and ending at the intersection of County Road #44 and
County Road #35 in a resolution dated July 7, 1982; and,
WHEREAS, The Sherburne County Attorney has advised the County Board that the City
of Elk River should concur in the request to the Commissioner of Highways
for a speed study.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River that the
City of Elk River concurs with the County Board's action taken on July 7,
1982, as it relates to a speed study on a portion of County Road #44, pre-
viously described; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Elk River respectfully
requests the Sherburne County Board to adopt Resolutions requesting the
Commissioner of Highways to conduct the necessary engineering and traffic
investigations to authorize the erection of appropriate signs to designate
reasonable and safe speeds on the following County roads:
1. County Road #1 from its intersection at Proctor Avenue to its intersec-
tion with the Burlington Northern Railroad line running from Elk River to
Princeton.
2. County Road #21 from U.S. Trunk Highway #169 to the easterly border of
the City of Elk River.
